go-up   Can I get the full-text of the publications in the journal?

Yes, you can get publications' fulltexts by using the hyperlinks provided to you in the journal.
► One of the lists of the journal is specifically for publications with free downloadable fulltext, such as "Top 20 Free-Fulltext Articles, in the Domain of Article 17214888, in the Past 12 Months". Every publication in this list will come with a hyperlink which takes you to the HTML or PDF fulltext, where you can read and save a local copy on your machine for free.
► Moreover, if you are in an institution that has subscriptions to non-free journals, you can use the "abstract" link of any publication in the WIPIMD journal, which takes you to the webpage with links to PDF fulltexts.

go-up   How are the articles numbered or ranked in the list?

What "top" means - The "top" in the phrase "top articles" means the most relevant articles in the chosen scientific domain, which also match other conditions you might have chosen, such as time range, language, and so on. The relevance is measured by BioMedUpdater's multifactorial scoring algorithm.

How the list is created - For the "Top Articles" list, BioMedUpdater takes the scientific domain-which you define when you register for the report-and searches for the most relevant articles within that domain. BioMedUpdater limits the articles to a particular time period that you choose when you register for the report. Examples of time ranges are "since your publication" and "in the past 2 months."

go-up   Do I have to have been published myself in order to sign up for this journal?

You don't have to have been published yourself to sign up for the journal.
Here are the methods you can use to define the subject of your journal in the sign-up page:

go-up   About us

Seeking to help themselves and others to overcome their frustrations with the MEDLINE search process, a group of biomedical scientists used extensive research and their years of experience to build BioMedUpdater.

The design principles of BioMedUpdater are taken from the research we have done on information retrieval in health and medicine.

We take two databases, MEDLINE and UMLS, and process them heavily till we end up with a representation that is optimal for BioMedUpdater. Both the MEDLINE and UMLS are open access, and you can have them for free. However the content they hold are in generic format, which may or may not be suitable for a particular purpose.

The "we" includes me, Mir Siadaty, who creates the differentiating features of BML, plus works of a large number of people, such as multiple independent groups of programmers like www.fedoraproject.org www.apache.org etc., multiple projects in the National Library of Medicine, and multiple processing machines at different levels of intelligence (no kidding! We automate our knowledge-engineering tasks to a very large degree using machines that are intelligent enough to do the tasks correctly, fast, and cheap. We observe that similar organizations/companies spend significant money to hire and train large groups of people to do similar tasks, only slower and more error-prone).

go-up   What are people saying about the BioMedUpdater journal?

Some people use email to send us their opinion, some write in blogs, and other sorts.
You can read more in the opinions page.
Please do send us your opinions and suggestions, custserv@bmljournal.com .

1."Fulltext of equivalent articles" - link to fulltexts of closely matching articles, which you can readily download;
2."Fulltext with fee" - link to the publisher's fulltext, which is helpful if you are viewing your BML Premium journal from a computer within an institution (like your university, hospital, or research institute) with paid subscription to that publisher/journal (otherwise you have to pay the publisher a separate and usually higher fee).

go-up   Can I see a sample of the Premium journal with fulltext links?
